Lithium-Ion Battery Care Guide
Test of Lithium Battery "Temperament": Charging Method Determines Lifespan
Typical Symptoms: After 500 charge cycles, the capacity of the mobile phone battery drops to only 70%, and after 1000 charge cycles for the electric vehicle battery, it can still run at 90%.
Why is there such a big difference in lifespan when using the same lithium battery?
The Truth:
Light charging and light discharging: Charge the battery when the remaining capacity is between 20% and 80%, and the lifespan will be longer (for example, charge the mobile phone as needed).
Avoid overcharging and overdischarging: When the battery level is below 10% or above 90%, it will accelerate aging (for example, don't charge the electric vehicle until it runs out of power).
Temperature Control: 0-40℃ is the optimal working temperature. Temperatures below -20℃ or above 60℃ will cause permanent damage.
Test Case: Laboratory data shows that the capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries remains 85% after 2000 charge cycles at 25℃, and only 60% after 1000 charge cycles at 45℃. Solution:
Turn on the "Optimize Battery Charging" function on your mobile phone. For electric vehicles, avoid direct exposure to strong sunlight or extreme cold.
Perform a complete charge and discharge once a month to calibrate the Battery Management System (BMS).
